Hi, I’m Elia — a landscape photographer, mountaineer at heart, and someone who feels most at home where the wind is cold and the horizon is wide.
I’ve created this newsletter for a simple reason:
I needed a space that wasn’t driven by algorithms, noise, or scrolling.
A place where stories could breathe.
For the past years I’ve been photographing the Dolomites, the Alps, and the northern landscapes I deeply love — Iceland and Norway, the Arctic light, the long blue hours that seem to last forever. But behind every image there’s something that rarely finds space online: the path to reach it.
The early wake-ups.
The maps and the doubts.
The failed attempts.
The unexpected moments.
The quiet.
And this is what I want to share here.
Not social-media perfection, but the real process: how I choose a location, how I study the light, how I work in the field, what goes wrong, and what I learn along the way. Sometimes technical, sometimes reflective, sometimes simply a story from a day in the mountains with Martina and our dog.
What you can expect from this newsletter:
stories from the Dolomites, northern Europe and other wild places
the making-of behind selected photographs
thoughts on creativity, light and mountain wandering
field notes, mistakes, and experiments
occasional updates on prints or personal projects
This place is for anyone who loves the mountains, photography, or just quiet storytelling.
Thank you for being here — truly.
See you in the next post, somewhere above tree line.
— Elia
